“I didn't see one other person on this ride. It gets remote quickly, and once you're past the first few miles you're on your own. You'll be challenged on a gravel bike. There are some soft and very difficult surfaces at times, loose stuff and chunk that'll make you work. I was on a 29 x 2.6 tire and glad to have the volume. Anything skinnier and I think I would've been fighting it the whole way. The vast majority is some really nice long, fast, smooth sections where you can settle in and just go. Maybe domestic, but still Champagne.”
